It's the last day of the school vacation. Actually its the last night. I'm just preparing myself mentally for the journey ahead. And also remembering all the things that happened in this year. I'm just happy I made it past this year with a forgiving amount of injuries, mentally, academically and physically.
Year 2008
Its not been a forgiving year. I feel like I've not drawn any closer to God. The next year will be a new start, both spiritually and mentally. Ever since I've entered Poly, I don't think that I have been doing well for my exams. I have my excuses, and they are good excuses, but the universe isn't a fair. Other than in your mindset, results truly matter.
This year, I've met new people and I've seen my friends change. My shy nature doesn't always fly well with others. Some people whom I've met at the tennis courts, I feel, find me weird. I guess and hope its just me.
And this year especially, I was so into tennis. I think I can tell you that I've seen nearly every video on youtube concerning Roger Federer. I haven't told this to many people, but he's my inspiration for playing tennis. His playing style is powerful and precise, yet is hidden under a veil of hard practice and graceful personal style. Tennis players would know what I'm talking about. And about all those arguments about who's the better player this year, Nadal or Federer, I'll say Nadal. He is a formidable player, and even stole Wimbledon from Federer this year. But I hope Federer will rise up again in 2009 and renew his number one streak, starting with the Australian Open!
On another note, I've not finished some of my homework. I should be doing it now, but I still have some time left, later.
School is starting, ahhhhhh! What to do, what to do? So many things left to do! Actually, that's not really true. Just some things not yet done, and I'm sorta lazy to finish them off.
Well, gotta go finish them off.

This is incredible. I play tennis twice a week, and they say its a lot??? I finally find a sport that I like and that you approve of, and now you're putting me down? You say it gets in the way of other more important things, and distracts me, but it doesn't! Its just a way of letting lose, and trying to achieve something other than good academic results! Whatever I do, all you want me to do is the minimal, except for studying.
I don't play tennis on saturdays or sundays. That's 2 days off the 7 days I have in a week. And I pick 2 days as far from each other as possible to play! If you say I'm stressing myself out, that's not possible, and I'm not that weak! I want to be number one in the world of tennis, but that's impossible, I know that. Let me go for some competitions without you telling me that its useless. I know its useless for life in Singapore, but let me do it! I want to play tennis!
Right now, it's 2pm on Christmas Eve. The house is quiet. Well, MORE quiet than usual. It was raining the whole morning. The air is still cold and crisp. The sun still hidden by the grey, ever-present sky. Alright, lets not get carried away.
Anybody wanna take up the task of fulfulling my deepest, most earnest, materialistic, well-thought-out wishes? ............................................ Didn't think so... Well, Christmas is about hope, right? I can keep hoping can't I? I love that word.
